APSA Updated Standards for Law Enforcement, Firefighting and SAR | Drafts for Review

AIRBORNE PUBLIC SAFETY ACCREDITATION COMMISSION (APSAC)

November 29, 2023

The Airborne Public Safety Accreditation Commission (APSAC) annually reviews one set of their Standards for Accreditation on a rotating basis to ensure relevancy, applicability and compliance with regulations and accepted practices.  Due to the travel and meeting restrictions related to the COVID pandemic, these periodic reviews were suspended over the last few years.  In late 2022, the commission restarted this periodic review process.  The pause in this annual rotation, however, resulted in the need for all four sets of standards to be reviewed.  To date, three of the four sets of these standards have been reviewed and updated.

In accordance with past practices, APSAC is releasing drafts of the three updated sets of Standards for a 14-day period of review and comment by APSA membership.  We invite all APSA members to review these drafts and submit your comments, recommendations or concerns via the online portals below. Your comments may be made anonymously, however, we encourage identifying yourself so that we may contact you directly in response to your comments.

The comment period is from November 30 – December 14, 2023.

All comments received will be reviewed by the Commission and incorporated into the respective set of Standards as they deem appropriate.  The finalized sets of Standards will be submitted to the APSA Board of Directors for review and adoption.  Once adopted, the final version of these Standards will be published and become the Standards for Accreditation and industry best practices.

The Airborne Public Safety Accreditation Commission was founded to promote and advance safe, effective and efficient aviation operations in public safety through voluntary compliance standards validated through the accreditation process.
